John E. Zummo

Twenty-nine years representing companies and their owners.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Zummo served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Navy and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney.

In private practice, Mr. Zummo has focused his practice on representing corporate clients and their owners in complex litigation, insolvency matters, and transactions throughout the United States. His work spans post-merger and acquisition disputes, securities fraud and shareholder derivative litigation on the defense side, partnership disputes, common law fraud and breach of fiduciary duty claims, commercial foreclosures, creditors' rights litigation, commercial real estate transactions, and contract drafting.

Mr. Zummo is experienced in every phase of a litigation — trials, alternative dispute resolution, and appeals — in jurisdictions through the country, including Illinois, New York, and California.

On the insolvency side, Mr. Zummo handles bankruptcy main cases for lenders, adversary proceedings, and out-of-court workouts, and inter-lender including in the context of syndicated credit facilities.

Prior to forming The John E. Zummo Law Firm, Mr. Zummo was affiliated with Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, Reed Smith LLP, and Vedder Price, P.C.
